El Arenal or s'Arenal de Llucmajor is one of the most visited beaches on the island of Mallorca. Partly because of its 4.6 km of fine white sand, but also because of the nightlife and leisure activities it offers visitors.
The origin of El Arenal in Mallorca is that of an old fishing village in the 70s. Since then, however, it has become more and more internationally famous. Especially among British and German tourists.
At the end of the 1990s the entire promenade in front of the beach was remodelled, making it a very pleasant area for runners, skaters and people who go for walks with their pets along the Playa de Palma or s'Arenal. Also on this remodelled promenade are the 15 beach bars (known as balnearios) that offer all kinds of food and drinks to visitors.

The main attraction of the Arenal area in Mallorca is undoubtedly its white sandy beach that runs along more than four kilometres of coastline, which makes it perfect to visit in a group or with the family.
The slope of the beach is very low, so you can enter the sea for a good distance without any problem. In addition, it has no currents, making it a very safe beach for children and the elderly.
Playa de el Arenal is also known by many as Playa de Palma, as approximately half of its surface area belongs to the municipality of Palma and the other half to the municipality of Llucmajor.

HOW TO GET TO El Arenal Beach
If you are going to spend the day at Arenal Beach and you are not staying in a comfortable Hotel nearby, such as the Palma Mazas, the most common way to get to s'Arenal is by public transport if you are coming from the city of Palma.

Palma Aquarium

Undoubtedly one of the most important Aquariums in Spain, it offers visitors an insight into the species and life found in the Mediterranean Sea and other regions.
It is open every day from 9:30 to 18:00, but the last access is at 16:30. The visit can last a few hours and there are many activities programmed such as 3D Cinema, Backstage Tour, Art Aquarium for the youngest members of the family and much more. At the end of Arenal we find one of the most important water parks in Mallorca called Aqualand El Arenal.
It can be reached by Palma bus line 23 or by private car and is open from 10:00 to 18:00 during the months of July and August (10:00 to 17:00 in May, June and September).
The Aqualand water park in Arenal has more than 20 areas to suit all members of the family. It also has restaurants and all the complementary services to be able to spend a whole day with the family enjoying the water and the slides.
